I stumbled into wedding photography almost by accident when a friend needed help. I'm going to be real with you—I didn't get into it because I wanted to "capture life's precious moments." I did it because I got paid and partying with the bride and groom sounded like fun.
…but then something happened that completely changed everything.
The client told me the picture I took of her dad - him genuinely smiling - was one of the only real, authentic smiles anyone had ever captured of him. Then she told me her dad had passed away a year after the wedding.
The photo I took became the image on his tombstone. I sat with that for a long time. In the commercial world I came from, everything had an expiration date. A six-month-old campaign is worthless. But a wedding photo becomes more valuable as time passes. It gets handed down through generations.
Once I felt that connection to something bigger, I couldn’t go back.
The Spark
So I started working alongside some of the biggest names in wedding photography.
And that's when I started seeing the cracks:
Photographers promising photos in six weeks, then taking six months. Photographers barking at people to "stand in a line and smile", treating every wedding exactly the same.
But what really got me was how the industry had hijacked people's weddings.
Photographers were making couples miss their own cocktail hours for photos. They were barking orders, making people perform and pose for hours instead of actually enjoying their wedding. It was all about checking poses off a list instead of creating something meaningful for them.
And I kept thinking there has to be room for photographers who actually care about the impact of their work.
But I had to ask myself some hard questions first.
What if we helped you spend more time with your grandparents and friends during cocktail hour instead of missing it for photos?
What if our entire goal was making sure you feel comfortable, have fun, and actually be present at your own wedding?
What if you didn't have to perform for a camera and could just be yourself and still get timeless, refined photos at the end of it all?
That became our entire philosophy.
We developed systems where people feel comfortable in front of the camera, where you can look incredible without having to be a model.
That's when I started
EightTwoFour
We're not there to orchestrate your day…

At the end of the day, we're not just taking photos. We're protecting your ability to be present at your own wedding while making sure you have images you'll treasure when you're showing them to your grandkids fifty years from now.
Here’s a handful of small, very human things about me. They usually say more than a formal bio ever could.
Originally from Toronto, but I moved to BC five years ago. I'm a mix of wild adventurousness, sports head, chill days at the beach, all blended into one photographer who loves his friends and just having fun.
When I'm not taking photos, you'll find me ripping around the streets of Vancouver on my longboard, walking down to English Bay with my dog Ruby, snowboarding at Whistler, or hanging out with my friends telling some ridiculous story about "this one time..."

I believe that life is short, and connection to the people, things and experiences around us is all that we've got. Whether that's family, your dog, your community, your friends, your job, whatever - I think that your passion and connection is what breathes life and excitement into your everyday.
I'm lowkey obsessed with animals and think they're the coolest thing ever. Like, how are dogs so smart? How are elephants that massive? This stuff blows my mind LOL
I believe that Costco is not just a store, it's a mindset and a way of life. If you've got problems, Costco can solve it.
I'm obsessed with comedy shows. The last time I was in NYC I went to 10 comedy shows in 5 days and loved every second of it. A great night out for me involved sipping a Negroni and laughing my ass off with friends.
