PETER AND VANESSA

Peter and Vanessa’s wedding was one of those days that just felt good. When Peter first reached out, he told me straight-up that he hated taking photos — didn’t know what to do with his hands, didn’t feel comfortable, none of it. Meanwhile Vanessa was SO excited and couldn’t wait to get photos with her girls. Total opposite energies, which honestly made it even better.

Their engagement shoot changed everything. It gave us that ease and trust so that on the wedding day, the boys could just be themselves — no weird posing, no pressure, just hanging out. And trust me, these guys were rowdy. They’ve all been friends forever, so the morning was exactly what you’d imagine: chirping each other, having drinks, laughing nonstop. Our whole approach was, “Let’s make this feel like a boys’ morning, not a photo shoot.” Quick, fun, no stress.

Vanessa’s morning was a completely different vibe — clean, elegant, modern, simple, and honestly so sweet. Her daughter Madeline was with her and totally stole the spotlight in the best way possible. We made sure to get a ton of moments of the two of them, plus her mom and her girls. The energy in that room was so genuine and so excited.

Their ceremony was at Saint Helen’s Parish in Little Portugal, and both of them were hype for the first look down the aisle. But the real moment? The first kiss. They wanted something epic — and Peter delivered. He spun Vanessa into this perfect movie-style kiss that ended up being one of my favorite shots of the entire year.

After that, it was celebration mode. We hopped over to Osgoode Hall for photos, which was chaotic in the funniest way. We got a bunch of modern hard-flash stuff, some killer veil shots, movement, all of it. And yes… we may have pushed our luck with security by shooting somewhere we technically weren’t supposed to. But listen — sometimes you’ve gotta bend a rule for the shot.

Their reception entrance was iconic because Maddie was the star. Everyone lifted her up and the whole room just erupted — such a good moment.

And then the first dance… unreal. They had sparklers going off behind them, Peter did another spin, her dress flew out perfectly — the timing was insane. It looked like something out of a movie. Definitely a top moment of my entire season.

Peter and Vanessa wanted a day that was easy, fun, and very “them.” No overthinking, no stiff posing, just real moments and good energy. And that’s exactly what it ended up being.
