Sam and Jackson
Sam and Jackson love to travel. They've been to Japan, Korea, all over Europe, and across Canada—so when they told me they were getting married in Tuscany, it felt perfect.
They rented a stunning villa just north of Florence on an olive oil farm between Florence, Tuscany, and Siena. My team flew in from Vancouver for the weekend. The villa sat on a hilltop overlooking the most beautiful Tuscan landscape—olive trees, rolling hills, and Mediterranean fruits everywhere. The building had this incredible character where the rock and floors creaked with age and texture.
Sam and Jackson rented the place for the entire weekend. We arrived Friday for the welcome dinner where both families came together. After nearly ten years of dating, their friend groups had completely blended and everyone felt like family. It made the whole weekend so relaxed and fun.
The wedding day started smoothly, then it started pouring. We weren't sure if we'd have to change everything. But after two hours of heavy rain, it stopped. The clouds opened up and the weather turned beautiful.
Sam and Jackson headed down to their ceremony viewpoint. The muddy road was tricky—Sam needed three or four people helping her walk so she wouldn't slip—but she made it.
The Tuscan landscape after the rain was breathtaking. We were at this gorgeous elevation with wind rustling through olive trees and guests laughing as the ceremony unfolded perfectly. Unforgettable.
The reception featured Florentine steaks, amazing pastas, and cheese on everything. But what made the night special was their first dance. Instead of doing it in front of everyone, they went during golden hour to dance privately, away from the crowd. Just them, the purple and pink sky, and the mountains at sunset. Sam kicked off her shoes and they danced together in that beautiful blue hour light. It was so intimate and intentional—I highly recommend it to couples.
When they returned, the energy exploded. House music played, drinks flowed, and everyone danced until 4am. Even after the DJ wrapped at 2, people stayed up sharing stories and cracking jokes until sunrise.
