Trish and Luke
Trish and Luke's wedding reminded me why I love what I do. Before their wedding, they reached out about photos with their dog Sonny, who was very sick. We skipped traditional engagement photos and went to their farm in Arran, Ontario instead. That day, Sonny was full of energy—chasing his ball, jumping around, just being himself.
Shortly after, Sonny's health declined and he passed away. Trish and Luke designed their entire wedding day in his memory, hosting it on their farm property that they'd been lovingly remodeling.
Trish is Polish and Luke is Irish, so the celebration blended Polish traditions with Irish energy perfectly. They wanted photos that felt fun and relaxed but still elevated and timeless—something they could pass down without it feeling dated or overly trendy.
After the ceremony, we headed to Bell Fountain Estates, a stunning vineyard normally closed to the public. We shot portraits with the vineyard and rolling greenery as our backdrop, zipping between locations on golf carts. At one point, Luke was handed a shotgun, and my team said, "Let's fire it off and see what happens." So Luke did, while the girls drank champagne and laughed. We were surrounded by ducks, cats, horses—it was perfect chaos in the best way.
Back at the farm, they'd converted an old grain silo into "Sonny's Bar" for the reception. We pulled them aside for barn photos during golden hour, and that's when Luke suggested jumping the fence to photograph with their show cows. Without hesitation, Trish hiked up her wedding dress, climbed over in her heels, and we spent golden hour surrounded by cows. It was incredible.
The reception was everything. Drinks flowed, Polish and Irish music played, and Trish and Luke were lifted up on the dance floor while everyone danced their hearts out.
Just before the night ended, one of Luke's guests surprised everyone with a fireworks show. It was way louder and brighter than anyone expected—completely over-the-top and absolutely perfect.
Trish and Luke wanted to be present without spending all day on photos. Luke wasn't big on posing, so keeping things short, fun, and natural was key. They got the elevated, candid images they wanted while still enjoying every moment with their people.
