TRINITY CHAPEL

TORONTO, ON

KEIRA AND BRITT

Keira and Britt's wedding was a first of its kind—they were the first LGBTQ couple to get married at Toronto's iconic Trinity Chapel. They wanted to set a new trend, embrace LGBTQ culture within the Catholic Church, and add a progressive touch to the traditional wedding scene.

Keira and Britt chose Trinity Chapel because of its gorgeous gothic styling and stunning stained glass windows. Everything about it fit their vision for an elegant, upscale, modern editorial wedding.

They had a clear vision: upscale, intentional, and purposeful. Every detail mattered—no decision was too small or too big. They weren't interested in "the way it's always been done." They just wanted to do things their way and have their perfect wedding in their perfect venue.

What I loved most was that they only booked us for about five hours. They wanted us to capture the most important parts—the ceremony, couples photos, and portraits with friends and family—then leave the rest of the day for candids at their favorite restaurant. This decision reinforced that everything about their wedding was meant to be intentional and elevated, and I wish more couples would do this.

Keira and Britt focused on the connection they had with their loved ones. They didn't get wrapped up in traditions but still included meaningful ones, like the African tradition of jumping over the broom to signify marriage. They blended their cultural backgrounds, a modern LGBTQ flair, and old-school Catholic chapel traditions into one beautiful ceremony.

One thing we loved about shooting at the chapel was the ability to photograph from the second-floor balcony, which gave us a unique bird's-eye view. Having a second photographer on the ground level to capture candids and guest reactions added another dimension to the story.

We used a lot of natural light to give the photos a calm, refined look that still felt editorial. Keira and Britt were comfortable with elevated poses, so we added our own flair to make sure the photos had that extra magic and spice that's so representative of who they are.
